アントワーヌ・ブリュメル(1460頃-1513頃)は、ジョスカンの弟子として高名なフランドルの作曲家。当時絶大な人気と信望を得て、ヨーロッパ各地で活躍しました。このミサ「見よ、大地の揺れ動きを」はブリュメルの代表作の一つ。なにより12声という、当時としてはえらい手の込んだ多声部の作品で聴衆をあっと言わせました。なにやら、20世紀における千人の交響曲やグ
レの歌のようです。声部の多さのみならず、歌唱やアンサンブルの点でも超のつく難易度で、知名度の高いわりには録音はあまりありませんでした。今回はドミニク・ヴィス率いるアンサンブル・クレマン・ジャヌカンが完璧！の仕上がりを見せています。これは聞かねば！

ハイドンの声楽曲の中ではレアな存在のカンタータですが、大半はエステルハージ家のために書かれており、なかなか興味深い仕上がりの曲です。今回録音されたものは、63年と64年のニコラウス・エステルハージ侯命名日用のためとみられる2曲と67年と思われるパリからの帰還を祝した1曲です。演奏陣も曲の特徴をよく捉え、誠実に歌い込んでいます。
