ヴィヴァルディの遺作発見！ 《ニシ・ドミヌス》を世界初録音！
フィナーレを飾るこの巻の聴きどころは多い。まず、かつてコルボの名演で有名になり、現在ではアマチュアの団体が取り上げる機会も多い名作《グローリア》。導入歌となる〈深紅色で描かれた女〉RV.642も取り上げられているのはもちろん、ヴィヴァルディと同じ時期にヴェネツィアで活躍したジョヴァンニ・マリア・ルッジェーリの《グローリア》も収録。ルッジェーリのこの曲がかつては「ヴィヴァルディ作」とされていたこともあったようだが、今日までの研究により、ヴィヴァルディが同名曲を作曲した際、同じ歌詞が用いられているこの曲を参考にしたにすぎない、と判明しているという。そして、さらに注目なのが世界初録音となる《ニシ・ドミヌス》RV.803。ヴィヴァルディには、同じタイトルを持つ詩篇曲（RV.608）もあるが、それとはまったくの別モノである。2003年にイギリスの音楽学者マイケル・タルボットが、ドレスデンのザクセン州立図書館で、ガルッピの作品として分類されていたものを再鑑定、これがヴィヴァルディが1739年に作曲し、散逸してしまった「5つの詩篇晩祷（Vesper Psalm）」の中の1曲であることを発見したのだ。この「5つの詩篇晩祷」は、ヴィヴァルディの「最後の作」とされているもので、その1曲が遂に見つかったとなると、センセーショナルなことこの上ない（日本の新聞や音楽雑誌が大した記事にしないのはナゼ？）。海外のサイトには、この発見に関する詳しい記事があちこちに見られるが、中でもAndante.Comの9月13日の記事はかなり詳細なもので、大変参考になる（ www.andante.com/Article/article.cfm?id=22212 ）。この作品、早速新しいリオム番号（RV.803）が振り当てられた。そして初演がつい先月（2003年12月7日）ドレスデンで行われたばかり。3人の女声ソロイストに振り当てられたアクロバティックなフレーズ、5つのソロ楽器の並はずれた活躍など、聴きどころは盛りだくさん。中でも、「トロンバ・マリーナ・ヴァイオリン（violino in tromba marina）」という特殊な楽器に振り当てられたオブリガートは、「18世紀のモダン・ジャズ・ヴァイオリン」とでも形容したくなるほど、自由闊達な書法で書かれている。初演では発見場所に敬意を表してかドレスデン・バロック・オーケストラが演奏したが、一方のキングズ・コンソートは「世界初録音」の栄誉を担ったというわけ。来る2004年3月には楽譜がRicordiから出版されることになっているのだが、キングズ・コンソートは、それに先駆け、すでに演奏用の譜面（スコア＆パート譜）をweb上で販売している。「われわれこそ、21世紀のヴィヴァルディ演奏のパイオニア」とでもいわんばかりで、なんだか微笑ましい。
