イングリッシュ・ナショナル・オペラ、オーストラリア・オペラ、ニュー・イスラエル・オペラなど世界各地のオペラ・ハウスでステージ・マネージャーを務めた後、2004年からは作曲家としての活動一本に絞り、リリシズムを湛えた合唱作品を続々と世に送り出しているポール・カー（1961−）。世界初録音となる「スターバト・マーテル」は、2017年にイングリッシュ・アーツ・コラールからの委嘱により作曲された大作。聖母マリアの悲しみが情感豊かに表現されています。また、カーの作品と共にプログラムを構成しているのは、高い人気を誇る合唱作曲家、ローリゼン、ヤイロ、ウィテカー、そしてチルコットのオリジナル＆アレンジ。合唱関係者要チェックの作品集です。

混沌とした時代に平和をよびかける、魂のコンポーザー、カール・ジェンキンス。
