時代楽器を使用した‘アカデミア・デ・リ・ムジチ”は世界的に知られた濱泰者を含むイタリアのベスト・ミュージシすンによって構成されている。指揮者のフィリッポ・マリア・プレッサンは合唱音楽、オラトリオの分野で名声を馳せており、特にアーリー・ミュージックの漬奏における評賦圭高〓；。 マルチェッロの世界初録音によるこの作品はおそらく彼がヴェニスに滞在していた１７２８年〜１７３３年の間に作曲されたとされている。しかし、長い間演秦される事はなく、初演は「国際バロック音楽フェスティヴァル」が開催された１９９６年の９月１２日にヴェニスで行われた。ソロイスッ、二重合唱団〓弦楽と通奏低音のためのこの作品は基本的に伝統的なレクイエムの様式によるものであるが、彼のより独創的であり、様々な要素を多く取り入れた奥深いものととなっている。
